As humanity, we are now directly faced with the effects of our prevailing economic system and our social model. The question is: will we be able to make the necessary changes or will our existence be determined in the near future by scenarios that are already known today.
Transformation is therefore not a nice-to-have, but an indispensable necessity for our future viability, yes: for our survival. Instead of expansion, it is now much more about reduction, about rethinking in all socio-ecological areas.
The overused term “sustainability” is all the more dangerous as a media term as it is usually a mere empty phrase. CO2 figures on products belie the fact that we lived much more ecologically and sustainably 50 years ago. A small eco-elite eats biodynamically produced potatoes with a clear conscience, while our planet is being farmed to death in front of our eyes using agriculture and energy technology.

At Studio Kom., we are committed to transformational design because we firmly believe that design will move this change process forward well and quickly.
Transformation design is a reduction to the essentials: that is why our projects usually start with a customer workshop, which is about identifying the core message, corporate goals, value growth (as opposed to simply increasing sales) and thus creating truly sustainable structures — both externally and internally — that are truly authentic and differ significantly from the mainstream.

That is why we are reluctant to design stand-alone solutions such as a new website or a new corporate design, but look at the company and its employees, its market position and its vision as a whole. We're not taking a hundred small steps. We plan and structure carefully, think together and when everyone says “yes”, we get started. This is successful and creates a lot of potential for further innovations and ideas.
Just give us a call, we are looking forward to customers, interested people, open-minded people, weirdos and doubters, followers, revolutionaries and the more careful. Definitely: for you.
“If you value the fact that your own children and grandchildren have a chance of survival [...], then you will have to start organizing your entire life according to the principle of growth.” Harald Welzer, Deutschlandfunk 2008
