Kaspar Schmauser

Starting situation & goals

When we spoke with Claudius, Philipp and Daniel about their idea, Kaspar Schmauser even before it was founded. Three founders, one vision: vegetarian-vegan, sustainable food that is fast, affordable and suitable for the masses — without a moral index finger. The aim was to position the concept not as a niche offering but as a modern system catering service and to develop a scalable franchise model from it. The challenge was to design the brand and user experience in such a way that guests only realized afterwards that they had not eaten meat — and are still impressed.

Our Approach

We started with a holistic analysis of the brand idea, target groups and customer journeys — from online ordering to the moment of eating. The project required a combination of brand strategy, UX design and system logic. Our approach: a user-centered system design that consistently thinks of every interface — digitally and physically — from the guest's perspective. At the same time, we strategically supported the team on issues of brand communication, content structure and cross-channel campaign logic.

Our work

Over a year, we developed and implemented the brand architecture and digital front end of Kaspar Schmauser. We designed the web shop, a self-order terminal and an app concept for the first restaurant in Nuremberg. We also supervised the development of online and offline communication: from social media content and advertising to print materials, shop window design and visual launch campaigns. All measures were geared towards consistency, data traceability and reusability in the future franchise system.

The results

The result was a sophisticated, scalable system for brand and customer experience. Even when it opened — in the midst of the corona lockdown — the restaurant was a success. The clear design, intuitive digital ordering process and precise communication led to an exceptionally high response. Within three months, the online community grew to over 3,000 followers, and organic contributions from guests significantly increased the reach. The concept quickly established itself as an integral part of Nuremberg's catering scene and laid the basis for the further expansion of the franchise model.

“Studio Kom. accompanied us from the start and, in particular, accompanied us during the translation from the concept idea to the guest front end to completion and was decisively responsible for the implementation. Especially because of the passion they brought to the project, it became clear very quickly that we were in good hands with Karl and his team and were not just being processed according to specifications. On the one hand, the & necessary discourse driven by creativity and the desire to achieve the best result for us as a customer has required short-term implementation and changes, but above all, on the other hand, has given us the confidence that the optimum is really being sought here. Highly recommended!” Claudius von zu Linden
